A Summer of Festivals
Well, the tents are packed away, the mountains of washing completed and the long summer evenings under starlit skies are starting to be a distant memory.
This year I was at 5 festivals, from Download at Donington (not the usual place you'd expect to find Holistic Practitioners!) to End of the Road, a new very intimate festival at the beginning of the wonderful adventure of whether in years to come to sell out to corporate or stay small (ouch, there goes the cynic in me again!!), and what a summer it was. I'm already looking forward to going to Download again next year, we had a great response from some of the 75,000 people who visited each day. The Biker Chick in me was in her element. Aching backs from camping or tired out bodies from mosh pit action, healing sinners and saints alike - it was awesome.
Larmer Tree and The Big Chill were as blissful as ever, both very special in their own ways. And then to the most spiritual camping I have done, Tribe of Doris, although not a festival, a summer school for drumming, dancing and connecting with some beautiful people and of course, all that spiritual renewal. And finally End of the Road Festival, being asked to run a healing space of my own making and having a great team of practitioners creating a very intimate space for people to chill out in. Even though the weather was turning more autumnal, it was enchanting.
So it could be with sadness that I pack all the festival gear away until next year, but my head isn't hanging low, it's full of memories of all the lovely people I met, of how effective the treatments were in adding to the whole festival vibe and gave me something very special, the realisation of how much I love what I do, which can only be a better way of serving those that choose me to support them. So thank you to all those people I met this summer and hope the memories of the ‘festival vibe’ help you through any gloomy winter blues, here's to next year's summer of festivals.
